Union Bay Slough

Union Bay Slough is a great little wetland area located east of University of Washington campus. It is popular spot with birders. There is a little loop trail that goes through the wetland area. It is a popular trail - so if you want solitude expect to get there early. It also has interesting views of Lake Washington and the Husky football stadium (This spot is probably more interesting during sunset). Also since this spot is close to the Husky football stadium going there during game time is generally a bad idea :)

Early morning is probably the best time to shoot the birds. There are a few ponds here with plenty of bird life. Mallards, Canada geese, Red winged blackbird, Great Blue Herons, kildeer and various other species of birds can be found here.
